Move Is Finished

Our household move is complete and we're back in southeastern Georgia. Happily, only a couple of broken items and neither the wife or I killed each other due to frayed nerves. I'll get back to somewhat regular posting and my old half-fast wit semi-regularly now, but the new job requires longer hours so...

I spent 21 years in the US Navy driving submarines, hence my chosen nickname. "Straight Board" is the last standard report given by a Chief of the Watch before the order is given to submerge the submarine. It is shorthand terminology that informs the Officer of the Deck that all hull openings are shut so he can have a high degree of confidence that once under water, he won't have the sea entering his "people tank" uninvited. We'll see where this blog goes together, but for now; "Straight Board - DIVE, DIVE"
