WV Monument to Bobby Byrd

Dateline: Wheeling, West-by-gawd-Virginny

As a monument to his long-tenured Appropriations power-brokering, citizens of West Virginia decided to erect a state monument to Robert C. Byrd, honoring the method of stewardship he has favored for re-distribution of the American tax payers' contributions throughout his political career career.

Senator Robert C. Byrd, D - WV, Straight Board salutes you AND your unabashed, unabated greed!

Before you get your PC panties in a knot:

I spent 21 years in the US Navy driving submarines, hence my chosen nickname. "Straight Board" is the last standard report given by a Chief of the Watch before the order is given to submerge the submarine. It is shorthand terminology that informs the Officer of the Deck that all hull openings are shut so he can have a high degree of confidence that once under water, he won't have the sea entering his "people tank" uninvited. We'll see where this blog goes together, but for now; "Straight Board - DIVE, DIVE"
